Pantheon

Dedicated to the worship of all gods, the Pantheon was built by Emperor Hadrian between 118 and 125 AD on the remains of an earlier temple of 27 B.C. of which still bears the inscription and consecrated as a Christian church in 609 under the name of Santa Maria ad Martyrs.

In 1870 it became the shrine of the king of Italy, and welcomes the remains of the last kings of Italy and of the painter Raphael.
