Tiberine Island

The Tiberine Island had the shape of a ship. You can see an evidence on marble in the right bow and there were an obelisk as mainmast.

Both the bridges of the island, were built in the first century BC.

It was an hospital since 291 BC and now, at the place of the temple of Aesculapius, you can find the church of San Bartolomeo.

The present Hospital, Fatebenefratelli, is dated 1584.
